I was so sad to read this morning that Mad Magazine is basically dead. I can't even express how big of an influence Mad was on me both personally and artistically. Wally Wood, Mort Drucker, Don Martin, Al Jaffee, Jack Davis, Tom Bunk, Hermann Mejía, George Woodbridge, Sergio Aragonés, Harvey Kurtzman, Tom Richmond . . . These are my gods and teachers. They revealed to me just how dumb and ugly the world is.
